Music theory, played back.

For music teachers and students. Learn chords and the circle of fifths by hearing them, see the theory as you go, and write real songs from the first lesson.

Why it works in class

Every concept has a sound.

The circle, by ear

Tap any chord to hear it. The key’s chords glow green; neighbours on the circle really do sound related.

Theory made visible

Roman numerals on every chord, a staff with chord and scale, and a plain-English line: “IV in G major · a main chord”.

Real progressions

A library from Pop anthem to Jazz ii–V–I and 12-bar blues, written in the song’s key, ready to hear and use.

Sheet music from your song

Lead sheet, piano, guitar and bass parts, written the way each one actually plays.

Instruments that teach

Guitar chord shapes on a real neck, bass notes on the fretboard, keys that light up the chord.

No accounts, no data

Nothing to sign up for. Songs stay on the device; no ads and no tracking.

See it

The circle, the numerals and the staff together.

The Chord editor names how every chord fits the key and shows it on a staff, so students connect sound, symbol and theory.

Every age

Never too early. Never too late.

Big, clear chords and lyrics on screen, and a band that plays along, at the piano, at home, at any age.

Classroom ideas

Six lessons to try this week.

Hear the circle

Students tap round the circle of fifths and describe what changes. Then predict which chords will sound “home”. The green ones prove it.

The four-chord challenge

Everyone writes a verse with I–V–vi–IV in a different key, using the Progressions tab. Compare how the same numerals feel in each key.

Transpose a song

Open the demo, then Change key and rewrite the chords. The numerals stay, the letters move. Transposition made visible.

Arrange for the band

Use the Instrumentation table to decide who plays where: piano only in the verse, strumming guitar in the chorus, everyone in the bridge.

Lyric workshop

Write a verse under the chords with the rhyme finder open. Talk about perfect rhymes versus near rhymes.

Rhythm lab

Build a beat per part, then try 3/4, 6/8 and 7/8 with the presets. Clap along, then record the pads live.

Teachers ask

Students and schools Q&A

Is there a student price?#

Yes: Pro for $19.99 a year with a school email address.

Do you offer school or classroom pricing?#

Yes. Contact us with your school and how many students, and we’ll put a quote together. Learn & Practice, a room for learning piano, guitar and drums, is coming soon. See Education.

Do students need accounts or email addresses to use it?#

No. The app has no accounts; songs stay on each device. That makes it simple to use on shared school tablets (export songs to keep them).
